When you look around at the world what do you see?
Do you see solid shapes and forms that seem to be in a fixed state of existance?
I would think the answer is yes, because that is how we are meant to percieve the world with our human eyes. But this is only an illusion, the world is not made up of solid forms. It is made up of an infinite number of tiny worlds coming together to create the one that we perceive.
That is the concept behind this style, it is the desire to convey that sense that we are all made of smaller parts coming together to create the whole. This way of creating an illustration holds so much beauty because of its desire to show the world in a more truthful light. It allows individual colours to shine through while still maintaining integrity to the larger composition.
This logo was a real pleasure but also a great challenge. I was contacted by Oliver Vimard to commission a logo for his company J&O Chiropractic. To begin this project I started research into human back anatomy. One of the most important things involved in Logo Design is knowledge. The knowledge you possess on a subject will directly influence how you can come up with ideas and ultimately a final design. After much deliberation we settled upon this Logo featuring one of my favourite Typefaces: Century Gothic. A beautiful geometric Sans Serif font followed by an Italic version beneath the brand name.
"Excellent service and great logo design! Justin was very professional and skilled as he was able to capture what I needed just right!"
Aous is an urban photographer in Toronto. For his logo we had looked at many typefaces and tried to come up with some kind of emblem that suited his brand's image. Nothing seemed to stick though. But then an idea struck! His signature! What could be more perfect for a person that is the brand. So after much tweaking and deliberation we arrived at this final. It features a minimalistic frame as a nod to his old logo and the fact that he is a photographer.
"Justin not only did what I asked of him but so much more. He really goes above and beyond when it comes to the work he does for his clients. He's patient, understanding and very open minded when working on other people's projects. Having his insight during my logo design really helped make it that much more special."
Spiritual Design Jewellery. What better for a Logo on this topic than a bright crystal, full of detail and dimension. Just like the Jewellery Deborah is hand crafting, this Logo was hand crafted to resemble both a gemstone and the peak of a crystal geode.
I just had a logo done and I love it! Justin gave me exactly what I was looking for. Very talented and creative designer. Would highly recommend to my business colleagues, and anyone starting a new business! Great work Justin!
36 days of type.
over a period of 36 days the challenge is to recreate the numbers from 0-9 and the letters from A-Z. I used this as an opportunity to work on my Typography skill. Relevant to the work I do on Logos and other Graphic Design work in my Freelance career. I wanted to work in only black and white. and I stuck to this with all but the number 2. This is because the number 2 is one of very special importance representing duality. Clicking on the images will bring you to my Instagram where you can read more on each of the individual designs.
Photography is the art of transmuting the visions of an individual into a form that renders it viewable to all. It is the ability to freeze time and distill the infinite complexities of the seen world into a single and powerful frame. Combining the lenses and mirrors of a camera with powerful editing tools allows the creation of mind-bending images that leave an imprint in the mind of any viewer.
To capture a powerful photo one must have the gift of seeing. This is not the same as passively looking. The difference between seeing and looking is as profound as the difference between hearing and truly listening. It is my goal on this page to allow you into my mind and see as I see.
When I gaze upon the world and it reflects back to me a sight that screams to be shared, I work with the tools accessible to me to capture that light and bend it to my will to communicate any idea that I desire.
Logos are the face of your business. They are arguably even more important than ones true face when talking about brands. A logo is a symbol, a hieroglyph that serves to communicate a myriad of information that will help people understand what your business stands for.
It is then the job of a professional Graphic designer to take your business and all that it stands for and distill it down into an appropriate logo.
A professionally designed logo by a designer can mean the difference between success and failure in the business world. It is my goal as a designer to communicate with clients back and fourth until your vision is achieved in the most brilliant way.
Here in this gallery are a few examples of past work created for real world clients. These logos are here to show not only a flexibility in style but also professional and skillful execution.
